The U.S. Senate will soon be voting on its version of the Farm Bill and we have a great opportunity to crack down on animal fighting and other forms of cruelty if you take action today.
The U.S. Senate is moving quickly on its version of the Farm Bill. The good news is that it doesn’t contain harmful language by Rep. Steve King of Iowa that the House of Representatives passed. And, we have a chance to include a measure to crack down on animal fighting as well as opportunities to prevent the sale of dog and cat meat and to help family farmers who treat animals more humanely.
Please contact your U.S. Senators and ask them to vote for these three amendments to the Farm Bill.
TAKE ACTIONPlease take a moment to call your two U.S. Senators now. Look up your legislator's phone number.
You can say, "You can say, “I am a constituent, and I am asking you to please vote for pro-animal protection amendments that may come up for a vote in the Farm Bill: amendment #3127 on animal fighting, amendment #3074 on checkoff, and amendment #3226 on dog and cat meat." Each of the past three Farm Bills have contained important animal protection provisions, and this Farm Bill must also.
